Reverend Mack Olson

Before accepting the call to be the Missioner for Church Life, the Rev. Mack Olson served as the rector at Church of the Epiphany, Vacaville for nearly 10 years. Mack is a product of this diocese, being ordained to the priesthood by the Rt. Rev. Barry Beisner on March 24, 2012 at St. John’s, Petaluma. Mack has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Master of Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. Prior to his call to ordained ministry, Mack worked for nearly 20 years as a student affairs professional, first at the University of Colorado, and most recently at Sonoma State University. Before coming to Epiphany, Mack trained and worked as a hospital chaplain for two and half years at John Muir Health in Concord, California. Mack’s spouse is Jeremy Karagan, who is an IT professional for the city of Benicia. They have two boxer dogs named Truman and Wilmer, and an orange tabby cat named Dan. Mack enjoys travel, cooking (especially traditional Mexican dishes), watching college football (Go Buffs!), and working on his two classic SAAB 900s.
