Our Beliefs

An exerpt from the "Beliefs and Practices" section of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California website:

"From the revelation to Israel, we learn that there is one God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. This means that the universe is good, that it is the work of a single loving God who creates, sustains, and directs it. It means that the world belongs to its creator; and that we are called to enjoy it and to care for it in accordance with God’s purposes. It means that all people are worthy of respect and honor, because all are created in the image of God, and all can respond to the love of God. This revelation was handed down to us through a community created by a covenant with God."

Camp Living Waters is composed of many different folks from different churches and backgrounds, so we encourage discussion of faith and questions about faith--we believe asking and exploring questions and doubts is important! We  believe in a loving and accepting God who forgives and adores us all. We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Son of God who died to save us, and that Jesus shows us the incredible depth of God's love. We believe that only God can judge people, so we try not to!  We believe in love and respect for all people, all creatures, and we celebrate and value diversity. We believe that God has given us each unique gifts and strengths and that each individual person is vitally important, and therefore it is of utmost important to be yourself. We try to make Camp a place where people can be themselves, can ask hard questions, and can expand, begin, or even try out faith for the first time.

If you have any questions about Camp Living Waters and what it's like or what we're about, please feel free to e-mail us!
